The Torres Strait Island Flag was developed in 1992 by Bernard Namok, from Thursday Island. The Australian Government granted it “Flag Of Australia” status in 1995. The Flag was developed as a symbol of unity and identity for Torres Strait Island people. The green represents the land, the blue represents the sea, the white stands for peace and the black symbolises the people. Made in Australia, this large wooden table puzzle measures 42cm x 30cm and includes notes on design and history.
