Each set includes 5 boxes, perfect for keeping classrooms, libraries, and learning hubs organised while celebrating Indigenous perspectives.

Available Designs:

1. Indigenous Marine Life Book Boxes – Artwork by DJ Mate

Celebrate the deep connection between land, sea, and spirit with the Indigenous Marine Life Book Boxes. Each box showcases a different sea creature, beautifully represented with symbolic meaning:

  • Dolphin – The human spirit, reminding us to approach life with humour and joy.

  • Sea Turtle (Wudanyuka) – A symbol of resilience and long oceanic journeys.

  • Dugong (Sea Cow) – Gentle and significant, found in abundance on the Great Barrier Reef.

  • Whale (Mugga Mugga) – A sacred Totem for many coastal Aboriginal peoples.

  • Mother & Calf – Representing nurture, protection, and the bond between generations.

The flowing white dots represent safe passage through the sea, honouring First Nations stories and traditions.

2. Flow of Learning Book Boxes – Artwork by Mitch Francis (Gunditjmara/Bundjalung, NSW)

Reflecting a child’s educational journey, these boxes feature Mitch Francis’ Flow of Learning artwork:

  • The central winding path symbolises the learning journey.

  • The connecting blue lines represent the places visited along the way.

  • The ‘U’ shapes depict the people who support and guide children throughout their learning.

With earthy Australian colours, this design adds depth, culture, and conversation to any learning space.

3. Indigenous Seasons Book Boxes – Artwork by DJ Mate

Inspired by Dharawal seasonal stories told by Frances Bodkin, these boxes are a cultural journey through the Season of Ngoonungi:

  • The gathering of Ngoonungi (Grey-Headed Flying Foxes) at sunset.

  • Possum tracks and nocturnal sounds signalling seasonal changes.

  • The arrival of gentle rains and community feasting as seafood restrictions lift.

Each side of the box tells part of the story, with cultural notes included on the back for easy sharing with students.
