Touch and Feel Box

Stereognosis is the ability to recognise texture, size, spatial properties and temperature without visual or auditory cues. With the Touch and Feel Box, children describe what they touch thus stimulating their vocabulary. Feel an object inside the box and describe it without looking. Using adjectives like soft, rough, large or small helps students define the item and find its name.
