‘Forest’ signifies freestanding tubular bells consisting of 7 metal tuned tubes of different lengths. The longer the tube the lower the sound it produces. Includes a dedicated post for the 2 mallets.

 

The instrument itself is characterised by high frequencies and a subtle range of aliquot tones (higher harmonics). To enjoy the mesmerising tone of tubular bells, you must strike them in the middle with mallets to produce a sound. Even the simplest, intuitively struck rhythm will produce an interesting tune. Two people at most can play the tubular bells ‘forest’. It is a good idea to add other instruments such as the Monk Bells or the Wind Piano to create music together with others.
